The Red Barn wedding photography
I am so thrilled to bring you another spectacular wedding. Even with the rain and chilly weather, Cheyanne and Matt’s Red Barn wedding photography was a completely outstanding event.
We have photographed at the Red Barn at Hampshire College many times, and the staff is always so helpful.
Rainy wedding days can create some challenges for wedding photography with indoor space and light. We were able to find a small corner of the Barn with a rustic look and feel and we lit the area with some beautiful light.
Let’s hear about the wedding day from Cheyanne and Matt.
Your Wedding Date
March 26, 2022
How did you two meet?
We met in college at Umass Amherst!
How did he pop the question?
Vacationing in Ireland, sat us down on a cliff and pulled out a ring!
What was your favorite moment(s) from the wedding?
Reading my vows to my fiancé, dancing with all my friends and family
How long have you been together?
What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding
Try really hard to remember it is going to be a really fun party!!! So try to enjoy the crazy ride of wedding planning, focus on appreciating the moments with your friend and family.
How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day?
It was really cool! Greg was incredibly
helpful and instructive, especially since I felt so nervous about having my picture taken.
Did you see each other before the wedding? If not, did you like waiting or would you have rather done it differently? Tell me why or why not!
We stayed apart the night before and the day of the wedding! It was pretty nerve-wracking without having the support system you are used to in a partner but the excitement and relief you feel afterwards is awesome!
Any tips on how to prepare for the wedding photos?
Relax and don’t take it so seriously! Read the emails and advice that Greg sends or tells you and be open to the instruction and feedback! And ask questions!!
Any tips that you have about preparing your wedding party for the photos? What did you tell them, how did you get them to cooperate, what did you do or what would you have done differently?
Attitude reflects leadership, tell your party what you need from them nicely in terms of tasks or support and they will give back to you. They are probably nervous too so keep that in mind and just ride the crazy waves together.
Any tips on what to bring?
We love to hear about vendors you love. List any vendors here and feel free to share your experience.
DJ Pete Wildermuth was excellent.
Did you find a store/site that had everything you were looking for? Use this space to talk about favorite shops. You can include where you got your dress, sites you got your veils/décor/accessories, etc
I liked Etsy for my party’s gifts and I liked crafting my decor with my mom and maid of honor. I got a lot of stuff from the dollar store and the flowers from Whole Foods the morning of the wedding.
What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome?
I was really nervous I was going to “do something wrong” or embarrassing in front of 90 people and honestly it was totally fine. Focus on your partner and the rest kinda melts away.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to other couples for planning their wedding?
Ask for help from everyone you know and accept the love from your friends and family.
