I have another spectacular wedding to share with another stunning couple! Meghan and Rob’s Barn and Wight Farm wedding in Sturbridge was as I said simply spectacular.

Their wedding at the Barn at Wight Farm was one of the first to use the new Winthrop Room that is connected to the Alpheus Room where their ceremony was held. Meghan and Rob’s wedding was originally scheduled for March of 2020 but we ended up rescheduling it 3 times as we were unable to predict the future of the pandemic.

The weight was definitely worth it as it was such a special day.

Let’s find out more from Meghan and Rob about their Barn at Wight Farm wedding.

June 19, 2021

We met through Meg’s sister, Brianne (Matron of Honor). Rob and Brianne attended Assumption College and were good friends. Meg was frequently visiting Brianne and her other sister Caitlin at their apartment in Southie and Rob would attend their parties. After awhile, Meg kept asking the girls if Rob was coming out too. She coyly asked for his number and then they began texting. Finally in 2011, Meg moved to the city and they started to see each other more and had their first official date.

Right after our 7th anniversary, we went to the Berkshires to celebrate the marriage of our friends and decided to do some hiking prior to heading home. After what felt like a struggle, we finally got to the top and took it all in. The view was incredible. However, a few people had the same idea and quickly as we got there, 4-5 people had crowded the area. So we decided we should start to make our way back to the car. After a steep climb down, Rob suggested we take a picture to celebrate our successful hike. At that moment, Rob grabs the camera and we smile, and then Meg sees a small black box in the right corner frame. Then Rob got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife & after the shock wore off, she said YES.

I think just the fact that we waited so long to get there, we were so appreciative of our big day. After our wedding was canceled in March 2020, we had 3 more postponements before we got our June wedding in 2021. Just being around our friends and family after a long quarantine, it was perfect! Everyone was ready to celebrate!!!

August 2021 will be 10 years together!

Because of everything we went through, our wedding experience was weirdly calm and a whole lot of fun! People were dancing all night long. We couldn’t have imagined a better day!

Trust in your photographer. You hired him/her for a reason! And find someone who makes you feel at ease (like Greg!).

We felt very at ease with Greg. He is very professional and great about setting up the perfect shots–and patient with us! I can’t wait to see our pictures, especially the ones from the dance floor!

We did a first look. It was a great way to take away some tension before the big walk down the aisle. It was also such a great private moment between the two of us. We also decided to take our bridal party and family pictures before the wedding so we could all enjoy cocktail hour!

I think the hair and makeup team really made a difference with photos. After a hot day in June, the girls makeup still looked perfect at the end of the night!

Our vendors were amazing! We are so lucky that after 4 date changes, we were still able to get married with most of our original vendors. I would highly recommend them to everyone!
Our makeup team, baker, and florists were all personal recommendations from friends.

I was scared it would be canceled again! Once we got to the rehearsal, I felt a nice sense of calm and happiness to be around the people I love.

Expect the unexpected! I ended up scheduling all my last minute pickups for the week before our wedding so the week of, I felt very calm and had the extra time to go over checklists and enjoy what was coming! There’s always going to be little things that happen, try to appreciate everything else! Live in the moment.
