We went to Brandeis University and both played sports there. It was a small school so we had an overlapping friend group. We were always familiar with one another, but it wasn’t until a Purim party at the rabbi’s house that we hit it off. Joe was dressed up as Simba and the rest is history!
I had made dinner reservations for Joe’s birthday which was on a Wednesday night. We had been very busy with travel and other friend’s weddings leading up to that. On the side Joe was planning with Danielle (my sister) on how he’d propose after dinner in our newly renovated basement. The plan was for Danielle to set up with rose petals and candles while we were at dinner, all while getting our puppy out of the house, too. Everything went to plan except that we ended up having a major power outage in the area that day. Joe questioned whether they’d still be able to pull it off but it honestly added to the day. After proposing, Danielle, Charlie, Jillian and the pups joined us for a candlelit celebration in the basement.
It’s hard to pick one because the day was honestly perfect. We both felt the ceremony itself was the highlight. The setting was beautiful and our friend who officiated did such a great job customizing the ceremony to fit us. There’s something about professing your love in front of all your favorite people that is just magical.
10 years!
We feel so grateful that the day went as well as it did. Top to bottom. Our vendors were all incredible and all of our family and friends had so much fun.
Plan the wedding you want, not the one other people want you to have. And organization is everything so if you’re not very organized hire someone who is!
Hire Greg Moss and his team!
I wore a Casablanca gown that I found at Alexandra’s Boutique in Fall River. I felt like I was on an episode of Say Yes to the Dress! My mom, sister, and some of my bridesmaids joined me while I tried on 7 gowns. The first dress I tried on was the one I had envisioned myself wearing, but my stylist encouraged me to try on different styles (lace, sparkle, off the shoulder, etc.). When I tried on my dress I knew it was the one, it sounds corny, but it chose me!
It was great! Greg and his staff are not only fun and easy to be around, but they are very punctual, organized, and efficient. We knew after our engagement shoot with Greg (in freezing temps) that our wedding day would be perfect.
Yes we did a first look before the ceremony and bridal party pics and are so happy that we did! It gave us a chance to have an intimate and special moment to get the wedding jitters out of the way. Not to mention it gave us more time together and more time to celebrate with our guests afterwards.
Be your natural selves and just have fun!
We gave our wedding party a timeline of what the day would look like beforehand. It’s always tough with a big group, but we have to give Leslie all the credit for getting them to cooperate (especially Stevie, father of the bride)!
We loved all of our vendors! The day was a success because of them.Emma DeVillier (DeVillier Designs, @Devillier_Designs) was our planner and day of coordinator.
