Springfield engagement session with Felicia and Joe!

We had such a beautiful day for Felicia and Joe’s engagement session. I love the fact that they have been together since they were 14. Let’s find out more about their engagement.

How did the two of you meet?
We met in 8th grade because we had gym class together. Joe, someone who I had yet to really know, said to me “hey, I really like your hair, did you do something different with it? Did you dye it or something?” And so began our friendship. We started dating the following June, after going to our schools semi-formal together.
How long did you date before you got engaged?
We’ve been together for 8 years. Our wedding is on our 9 year anniversary.

When did you know that they were the one?
Neither one of us has ever dated anyone else, so I guess we’ve kind of always known, but as Joe has said “I knew I couldn’t marry you when we were 15, so I had to wait it out”
Tell us about the proposal. Please be as descriptive as possible.
It was the day we had decided to set up our Christmas tree (Christmas is my favorite time of year) my sister had come over to “help us” with it. After getting everything all set up and Christmas-like, Joe said “Felicia, I found one more ornament” and he pulled out a heart shaped ornament that said “Will you marry me?” and inside the ornament was the ring. Joe got on his knee and I started crying and saying yes (before he had even said anything) when he stood back up I was blubbering “but you didn’t even ask” I said so he officially popped the question and I cried more. My sister was there so she could get the whole thing on video for us. A completely perfect and unforgettable moment it was!
What was your immediate thought/reaction when he or she asked for your hand in marriage?
I was so surprised! I definitely didn’t expect it (that day anyways). I should have known something was up, he made me breakfast in bed that morning haha!
What was the most memorable part of the proposal?
The fact that we both cried because of happiness, that’s never happened before!

My ring is gorgeous! It’s a diamond with a circle of diamonds around it. The band has diamonds set in it and even the underneath of the main diamond has intricate (princessy) deigns with more diamonds!
